Supported phone system - Panasonic SMDR format and
Nortel Complete Log format
PC OS - Windows 2000,
Windows NT and Windows 98 (no XP yet)

You can evaluate the software without registering.
Registering or not, does not enhance the software functionality except
eliminating the 30 days usage limitation. This software is provided as
is.

PBX Date/Time setting "MUST" be
current before software is to be installed -
Make sure your phone system Date/Time is
current. Or else, the software installation
will report "Time expired" when you try to run it.
To change the Date/Time for Panasonic KXTD
series, see below:
- From a KXTD digital set, press button "Program" , enter "**1234"
enter "000" at prompt USR- PGM NO.
Press the "SP-PHONE" button. An example LCD Display will be:
" 01 Jan. 16 FRI"
To change the year entry, press the "TRANSFER" button to clear the current entry,
and enter the new year in 2-digit format.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to proceed to the month setting.
Keep pressing the "AUTO ANSWER" button until the desired month is displayed.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to proceed to the date setting.
To change the current entry, press the "TRANSFER" button
and enter the new date - number must be from 1 to 31.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to proceed to the day-of-week setting.
Keep pressing the "AUTO ANSWER" button until the desired day of the week is displayed.
Press the "AUTO DIAL" and then the "SP-PHONE" buttons to store the date settings
and to proceed to the time settings. An example display will be:
Display example: "12:00 PM 24"
To change the Hour, press the "TRANSFER" button and
enter the new hour - number must be from 1 to 12.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to proceed to the minute setting.
To change the current entry, press the "TRANSFER" button and
enter the new minute - number must be from 1 to 59.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to proceed to the AM/PM setting, and
press the "AUTO ANSWER" button for AM or PM.
Press the "FWD/DND" button to procced to the 12/24 setting, and
press the "AUTO ANSWER" button for 12 or 24.
Press the "AUTO DIAL" and then the "HOLD" buttons to store the time settings.
Pick up and then replace the telephone receiver to end the programming procedure.
Panasonic KXTD Serial Port Setup
-
By default, all you have to do is to use a
regular modem serial cable with
a null modem to hook up the PC's com
port to the KXTD SMDR port.
The manufacturer default setup for KXTD unit is 8-1-N
(or 8-1-M is fine), 9600.
These parameters must match with
the ones specify in "Software Setup".
You should not have to modify them. If you have to change them, follow the steps
below:
- Go to the KXTD operator phone set, (normally extension
11 or 101).
- Press button "Program", "*#1234"
(assuming you did not change the default password
"1234")
- Enter "806"
- Press "NEXT" (for New Line Code, leave this
alone)
- Continue pressing "Select" until the desired selection
is displayed.
- Press "Store" (Auto Dial).
- Press "NEXT" to change baud rate if required.
- Continue pressing "Select" until the desired
selection is displayed.
- Press "Store" (Auto Dial).
- Press "NEXT" to change word length. (such as 8
bits or 7 bits) if required.
- Continue pressing "Select" until the desired
selection is displayed.
- Press "Store" (Auto Dial).
- Press "NEXT" to change parity if required.
- Continue pressing "Select" until the desired
selection is displayed.
- Press "Store" (Auto Dial).
- Press "NEXT" to change stop bit if required.
- Continue pressing "Select" until the desired
selection is displayed.
- Press "Store" (Auto Dial).
- Press "End" or simply lift up the handset and put
it back again.
Norstar SMDR Port Setup
-
- "Feature" 9, *, 2
- Press "Next" .
- Change "Printer" value, BPS speed, to the one match with
PhoneLogger software setup.
- Change "Format" value to "Norstar". (Default is "SL-1"
which is not supported.)
- Change "Report" value to "All"
- Press "Next" until you exit the setup. Or simply lift the handset.
Software Setup - Download
here. Unzip the file, then run "setup.exe"
- If you installing on Windows 2000, you need
"administrator" privilege to run the setup.
- Depends on if your windows has the latest service pack or not,
during the installation
you may have to restart your PC and run the setup again.
- After software is installed, run "phonelogger.exe".
(Start, Program, Phone Logger)
- Right click the phone logger icon in the "system tray"
area that is next to the
lower right corner of the PC clock, select "properties".
- Under "Phone System", specifying the phone system
type .
- Under "Com Port Properties", specifying the COM port and baud rate.
Whatever you specify here must match the phone system setup.
- Under "Call Accounting", specifying the area code
where the phone system is installed.
Filling in the dollar amount for you carrier fee. Here only provides
simple accounting.
- Click OK to exit
- Right click the phone logger icon in the "system tray"
area that is next to the
lower right corner of the PC clock, select "Server Options".
- Recommended user to "checked" all the 3 square box options
to auto start the HTTP server.
- Click "User List". You must
ADD at least one user here in order to log in and view the log.
- Click "Add User", follow the form to add new
username.
- Click OK to exit
To view the log, open the IE browser go to URL (default is 8001)
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8001 (xxx: is your phone
logger server IP address)
Software reinstallation
-
In the event, that you have to re-install the setup
program, please do remove the
software first before reinstallation starts. You can remove the
software by using
Windows "Add/Remove program" under the Control Panel window.
